SUPCOM organise en collaboration avec GRESCOM et EDTIC un Séminaire Sur «Optical Fiber sensors» dirigé par M. Marco Santagiustina qui aura lieu le 13 mai 2015 à l'amphi I.
The invention of optical fibers has revolutionized the world of telecommunications and people lifes enabling the birth and diffusion of Internet. However, optical fibers can be also exploited as sensors. An introduction to the main techniques and applications of optical fiber in the field of sensing will be presented

Marco Santagiustina obtained the M.Sc., with honours, in Electronic Engineering in 1992 and the Ph.D in Telecommunication Engineering in 1996, at the University of Padova (Italy). In 1995 he was Fulbright Grant Scholar at the Optical Sciences Center of the University of Arizona (USA); in 1996 Visiting Research Lecturer at the University of New Mexico (USA) and Visiting Scholar at Brown University (USA). From 1997 to 1999 he was postdoc researcher at the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), within the TMR program of the European Commission. He is at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova (Italy) from 1999 (1999-2005 Researcher, 2005-2011 Aggregate Professor, 2011-2015 Associate Professor). He obtained the Italian National Abilitation as Full Professor in 2014. He is author or co-author of about 110 among articles and memories published in International scientific journals, books and proceedings of international conferences. He coordinated the European project GOSPEL (ICT-FP7-219299), an international bilateral project (Italy-Croatia), the Padova Unit in one National project (PRIN20050910255) and 3 research projects funded by the University of Padova. He is currently directing the Padova Unit in a National research project (PRIN 20102KAZKN_005). He collaborated to several national and international research projects and was consultant for Marconi Telecommunications and TelecomItalia Labs.
